Court: Drunk Port Chester Man Left Scene of Car Crash

A felony DWI crash, a pair of assaults and an old petty larceny case were among the hearings at Port Chester Village Court's June 25 session.

A Port Chester man had more than a dozen empty beer cans in his van when he struck a car and tried to drive away from an accident scene, police said.

Police found 13 empty or half-consumed cans of beer inside the van of 42-year-old Manuel Vizcho after they stopped him on Westchester Avenue. Vizcho appeared in Port Chester court Friday to answer charges of driving while intoxicated, a felony, as well as driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident.

In addition to the 13 open cans, police say they found four more untouched beers in Vizcho's front passenger seat.

Because Vizcho has a previous DWI conviction, he was charged with felony DWI. He was arraigned and sent to Westchester County Jail on $2,500 bail.

In February, the court issued a bench warrant for Rivera, and the Greenwich woman served eight days at Westchester County Jail before her court appearance.
