Bloody TV A person walking the path of the Greenrock property, the organization that maintains the Rockefeller Estate, on Sleepy Hollow Road spotted something unusual -- a TV with blood on it. The TV was placed on Rockefeller land under a corner of a bridge by the footpath, said Sleepy Hollow police; the placement raised suspicion. The item is being investigated and the blood is at a lab. A 66-year-old crossing guard got into a dispute with two unknown males yesterday at Murray Avenue School in Larchmont.
In an unlikely scenario at a local school, a 66-year-old male crossing guard at Murray Avenue School was assaulted by two unknown white males in a black Nissan Rogue crossover vehicle after a verbal dispute. The guard was stationed at the corner of Murray and Colonial Avenues at 2:50 p.m., at the time school was letting out, when the men approached in their vehicle from Colonial Avenue. A verbal dispute over an unknown matter ensued, said Lt. Robert Koziak, a spokesperson for the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department. Information on the exact nature of the dispute was not released. A Port Chester man was shot in the leg on Weber Drive in Port Chester Thursday night, but village police say the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear. The 30-year-old man, who is not a resident of Weber Drive, originally told police that he was shot by a man who got out of a passing car and opened fire. However, police said the victim's story changed several times. Police said they are also investigating whether the injury was self-inflicted. The investigation began when police received a call reporting a stabbing on Weber Drive. A Cortlandt Manor contractor cited for a construction error that led to a natural gas explosion that destroyed one Rockland County home and damaged others pleaded guilty today to reckless endangerment. A 37-year-old Port Chester man is accused of threatening his mother with a kitchen knife in a Sand Street apartment, according to Port Chester police. Village police officers were uncertain at first what the problem was when they were called to the apartment on Sand Street at about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After talking with a woman living at the apartment, police said they discovered the woman was upset because her son, Mario Martinez, had come into her bedroom holding a knife and threatened to kill her the night before. The woman also told police that her son had grabbed her by the hair and pulled her. Martinez was charged with second-degree menacing. He was arraigned in Port Chester village court and was later released on $1,500 bail …

A 21-year-old Port Chester man who had been on a party bus trip was charged with drunken driving after he was found passed out in a car that was on the sidewalk — facing on-coming traffic — on North Regent Street, according to Port Chester police. Police said a 2010 Honda Civic was found stopped on the sidewalk at 4:48 a.m. on Saturday, with the car in gear and the engine running. The driver, Aaron Cueva of 350 N. Regent St., was found passed out behind the wheel, police said. When a village police officer woke the driver up, police said Cueva became combative and tried to punch the police officer. Theft attempt A worker at a company on Beech Street told police that as he was rolling up copper wire at 11:15 a.m. on Monday when a man came up to him and tried to steal the wire. A 44-year-old Port Chester man is being held in the Westchester County jail in Valhalla on $50,000 bail after he was charged with endangering the welfare of a 3-year-old child, according to Port Chester police. An investigation into a May 10 incident at a Sand Street apartment that led to the arrest of Elizandro Alvarez Escobar is continuing. Police said Escobar is among several tenants of a Sand Street apartment, where a 28-year-old Port Chester woman, her boyfriend and her 3-year-old daughter also live.
