J, we have not repeatedly posted this article. It is continuing to get comments, but it is notRead More "repeatedly posted." The most recent article is this one: http://fairfield.patch.com/groups/editors-picks/p/metronorth-expected-to-resume-full-service-wednesday

Why do you repeatedly post this article with no updates since 10:48 PM on Friday May 17? Today isRead More Wednesday May 22! The least you should do is provide up-to-date and accurate information. Doing so is elemental to both the responsibility of reporting and the definition of news. This infofmation is five days old! Please wake up an smell the coffee!

They seem pretty happy for just being arrested.

I can't imagine who would fall prey to this. Who would want a television from the back of a van fromRead More people you don't know. The only place I would buy something like this is from a store.

Why no follow up on the code enforcement element of this story?
Valerie May 10, 2013 at 08:15 pm
Just trying to figure out how the hek this happened .... !!
Robert Byrne May 10, 2013 at 01:01 am
The lift truck was not hit by the 18 wheeler. The 18 wheeler hit the bucket holding the worker whileRead More it was suspended out over the middle of the intersection.

@Just Me.............you BROKE the Code! The individual Sates will never stop food stamps, medicalRead More etc. because these are programs that they can solicit (AKA "buy") votes from. It's basically a bribe. This falls along the same lines with free cell phones, which proved so successful in the last national election for soliciting votes, where it was noted that the program was $819 million dollars in 2008 and tripled to $2.2 billion dollars in 2012. A billion dollar program where thousands of phones were actually passed out to dead people! Great way to manage a program ; right? What everyone seems to forget is that this "FREE" stuff is being paid for by working people and with tax dollars. Somewhere in the future we're going to realize that political correctness does NOT equal National survival. Port Chester is witnessing that right now but on a smaller scale.

Just me .... Couldn't have said it any better !! Thank You !!

Craig Noor-you must me retired because you are the only one talking negative about every situationRead More that happens in PC. Maybe instead of talking you can actually get a committee together and do something about it. It's easy to seat home and talk the talk but can you walk the walk? You can't assume that every hispanic person is an immigrant. That's like saying all Italians are mobsters.....When you assume you make an a$$ out of yourself. Granted I do believe if you are here illegally you should be sent back to your country but now we have to take into account that most of these women that come here illegally are either pregnant or looking to get pregnant right away in order to stay in our country. My solution to this problem is that these children that are born in the US technically have no rights because they are not adults. They are not considered adults until the age of 18 and in some places 21. At that point the child/ren can return and enjoy all the benefits of being a US citizen. Until then your illegal parent is responsible for you in their country! The other solution is that the State needs to stop providing money, food stamps, or medical assistance for that child/ren until they are an adult. Somehow these adults need to get penalized for being here illegally and it sad that their children are the ones to suffer. The only thing these children should be entitled too is a free education because at the end of the day they didn't ask for irresponsible parents.

What a wonderful country we live in. We care about animals in distress as much as we care forRead More humans. God bless America and thanks to officer Krempa.
Kim May 10, 2013 at 12:09 pm
Why would you assume that, Immanuel Iita? Do you know me or any other commenter? You are recyclingRead More one of the most tired and overused arguments that people bring up whenever someone speaks out on behalf of animals. Compassion is compassion regardless of where it is directed, and the same goes for cruelty. This person should be investigated. Do you really think someone who would lack the most basic humanity and could not dial the SPCA to come get her animals is capable of taking care of a child?
Kim May 10, 2013 at 11:55 am
Uhhh, no. It is a crime.
TTH May 10, 2013 at 11:33 am
You would think, with all those free Obama phones being used in Mt.Vernon someone would have calledRead More the police!!!!

I grew up in that neighborhood back in the 70's, both on the William Street and Grant Street sidesRead More of Washington Park. When I was a kid, I remember those mutli-family homes in that neighborhood being clean and neat. I was a paper boy and got to walk down many a flower lined driveway with neatly kept lawns and the requisite tomato garden in the back. The owners and tenants back then possessed a degree of self-respect and pride, even among the working class laborers some of whom ran businesses right out their homes. Now when I walk through those neighborhoods I see television sets, furniture, window frames & other garbage piled up in yards; I see 8 trash cans lined up in a row, dozens of satellite dishes lashed to roofs. It's a real sad state, but I don't fault the people who live there--all those sad people working long hours in the local bakeries for next to nothing wages, nor do I fault the old timers who either because of age or high taxes or a combination of both exercised the only logical option that had left: sell. This is the fault of bad politics, bad policy, corruption & lack of vision, both at the VIllage level & extending all the way up to the National Level where the destruction of labor unions was seen as a good for business, where the lowering of income taxes for the wealthy shifted the burden to the homeowners, where development meant building big box stores & the death of Main Street. Reagan-Bush and Bush redux? Look what it has wrought!

Great American ain't so "great" nor are they "American" because they ruined thisRead More town and many lives. Wait for it... fire # 3 smelling of Cannavo will probably scar PC before you can say Cinco de Mayo.
Anthony Passaafu May 2, 2013 at 10:13 pm
No, the tenants probably started the fires, but 70 people in one house on William Street and twoRead More basement apartments, obviously in that house it was clear that they knew what was going on. Maybe they didn't know it was 70, but they certainly knew it was over the legal limit. They should be forced to live in their own houses for a week!

seems you're right, they must not steal. Nearly all the crimes reported on this site: burglaries,Read More rape, child molestation, theft, dwi, violence, disorderly conduct etc, are all by those who come from south of the US border. I am not saying this is an opinion, just the facts as reported on the PC Patch. Disagree contact the Patch.
Rod Lorenzo April 28, 2013 at 04:10 am
...as if white people never steal....lol
RyeDad April 27, 2013 at 10:30 pm
It sounds like we are in agreement. Great job by the PC Police nabbing this scumbag. I'm sure noRead More one would want this scumbag, who assaulted a police officer and tried to take his gun, to beat such a serious rap with a $75,000 pay off.
