Craig Noor July 25, 2014 at 09:17 am
Deidre Curran, that is how the police spelled it in the press release, and the Patch published theRead More press release as the article states. Still, that spelling is from the 50s and doesn't exactly make it seem like the PCPD is up to date in their understanding of drugs etc ... I wonder if they have even heard of the newer stuff that is out there (not that I have ... ).

It actually could be either. But if you are in an intimate relationship with someone where these pixRead More are used for mutual gratification, and the relationship ends, the point of the law is that the pix should not be able to be used against you at a later time. Not the same behavior as teenagers "sexting" necessarily but if your teen did this as many teens do without thinking of the extent of the consequences, you would be happy to know there is recourse for them too.
amerpatriot July 22, 2014 at 08:41 am
Not nec... pictures/videos taken with permission at the time, but later used without permissionRead More (revenge), or after permission has been revoked or assumed revoked. If in a relationship and give permission, then when you want to take back that permission, email yourself and all parties involved that you have rescinded permission. At least the timeline stops there. Anything after that could be a felony as described in this new law.
Terry P July 22, 2014 at 09:17 am
Sounds to me like another well-intentioned, but ultimately unenforceable law, created to make peopleRead More believe they have recourse. I'm guessing in the vast majority of potential cases, they will never be able to pin the action on anybody.

Drones are dangerous. A blast of wind can cause it to come crashing down. I saw a person die duringRead More a half time event at Shea stadium where a model plane hit someone in the head. A drone is just a more sophisticated model plane.
Anthony July 20, 2014 at 09:03 am
The type of Drone that this man used to photograph a building are less "dangerous" thanRead More automobiles, airplanes, and even bicycles. the statistics of one being hit by a model plane (including a drone type) are 10million to one. Car 565,000to one. pedestrians struck by a bike 76000 last year in the USA.

In fact, college rape stats are downplayed rather than exaggerated. Colleges hide incidencesRead More internally with campus security and sexual assault committees, rather than notifying the police who would make a public record of the event. Evidentially there is a "Red Zone" where girls are most likely to be rape - between the start of school and Thanksgiving freshman year. Mainly, inexperience with alcohol and not knowing who to trust. Girls NEVER go alone to a campus party, take a friend(s). Make a pack to go home together. Always assume the "jungle juice" punch will be spiked. If offer a water or soda, make sure it has been tampered with. And, if anything happens go to the hospital and the police, not the college security who (1) aren't trained and (2) work for the college who has financial incentive in not reporting and (3) can't send the rapist to jail.

In fact, college rape stats are downplayed rather than exaggerated. Colleges hide incidencesRead More internally with campus security and sexual assault committees, rather than notifying the police and making a public record. Evidentially, there is a "Red Zone" when girls are most likely to be rape - between the start of freshman year to Thanksgiving Break - when girls are less inexperience with alcohol and don't have strong friendships yet. Girls NEVER go alone to a campus party, take a friend(s). Make a pack to go home together. Always assume the "jungle juice" punch will be spiked. If offer a water or soda, make sure it has NOT been tampered with. And, if anything happens go to the hospital and the police, not the college security who (1) aren't trained and (2) work for the college who has financial incentive in not reporting and (3) can't send the rapist to jail. Lower the drinking age back down to 18 years old! Girls need to control their liquor instead of relying on the older 21+ students to provide the "jungle juice" punches that are so common now. Girls don't know the type of liquor, its proof and how much is used in these punches.
Max E Leahy July 18, 2014 at 09:12 am
As a recent college graduate I cannot agree with you more Anne. If we lowered the drinking age backRead More to 18 everyone would be a lot more responsible with with their drinking. By making it illegal to drink at 18, it just makes college students want to over indulge.

I'm not certain Kevin, I assume in this statement you're making you mean to say you would know firstRead More hand or have facts to back up what you want to say, It's unfortunate you lack the ability to argue constructively; Interesting, because by the tone in your statement I would assume you believe there is a certain type of people who belong in a certain type of environment, town, etc. I'd like to continue this very "intellectual" conversation with you but I rather go back to the conversation I was having with my husband and children. Just to add, my husband was born and raised in Bridgeport and my children are both white and hispanic but I guess the stereotype says my husband and children should go back to where they came from correct? I am sure you will have something really bold and important to say as a rebuttal, but I can assure you I will not be responding I have clearly made my point here. Have a great evening.

Back seated or front seated car seat.... my question is: how in the WORLD can these parents goRead More hours, and hours throughtout the day without thinking about their baby??? Don't they think about their child like: what is he/she doing right now, is he sleeping or playing with his friends, is he eating right now? Is he ok????etc...). Don't they call each other (mom/dad) to ask how the daycare drop off went??? My God!!! I think they should have the same punishment.
Ron Drew July 16, 2014 at 03:57 pm
Rita is correct in her response but what I am saying is to be consistent. New Haven should notRead More arrest a parent for accidentally leaving a child in the car and Ridgefield not arrest. Also Igor indicated not to put the burden on the car makers. Yet they now have computer chips to stop the car before it hits something and beeps at the driver if they move across the center line. Heroin is being allowed into the country by our lovely government. Yes I said it!! The good oldRead More USA!! We have troops in Afghanistan that are guarding poppy fields with their life. Hmmm why is this? Well let's think about it. About 80% of heroin in America comes from Afghanistan. But why would our lovely country allow that? Well first of all is money and profit, and second is while we are in Afghanistan we own those poppy plants. Put two and two together people!! They transport the heroin here and then make the authorities search and seize it back. Then you're thrown in jail and have to do all these drug programs if you're lucky. But of course they will hit you with fines and legal fees as well. It's all a circle of profit every which way that it goes.
