Bellas Homemade Toast
Searching for places to have breakfast in Tarrytown, Bellas Restaurant came up first in my search. It could have been because it is in the beginning of the alphabet or it could be because it is the No. 1 place for breakfast in Tarrytown. I made my decision after researching a few places to visit for breakfast, because when I called Bellas to confirm that indeed they were open, and yes, they had a full breakfast menu. The lady on the other line sounded so peppy and happy early on a Sunday morning. Plus she told me that everything is wonderful. So confident in her statement, I had to find out if it was true. Mela—my breakfast companion—and I arrived at Bellas Restaurant in Tarrytown, which was easy to find by the way, at 9:40 a.m. on a …

Legal dispute comes while preparations under way for funeral.
Thomas Richardson, brother to the late Mary Kennedy, has filed suit against estranged husband Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. in state court in White Plains, multiple media outlets reported Friday. The lawsuit was filed yesterday and was not publicly searchable earlier on Friday. By the time basic information about the case appeared in the Westchester County Clerk's records, a motion had been granted to seal its detailed documents. The seal order was given Friday by Judge Joan Lefkowitz, records show. While the contents of the lawsuit are not known because of the seal order, Kennedy told The Associated Press Friday that the matter was "over" (click here for its story). A 66-year-old crossing guard got into a dispute with two unknown males yesterday at Murray Avenue School in Larchmont.
In an unlikely scenario at a local school, a 66-year-old male crossing guard at Murray Avenue School was assaulted by two unknown white males in a black Nissan Rogue crossover vehicle after a verbal dispute. The guard was stationed at the corner of Murray and Colonial Avenues at 2:50 p.m., at the time school was letting out, when the men approached in their vehicle from Colonial Avenue. One of the males exited the vehicle and verbally assaulted the guard, threatening to harm him, said Koziak. Another male struck the guard in the chest, …

Going green can often help sell a home more quickly.
Many households still tend to shy away from adopting green living habits for fear they’ll be too hard, time-consuming, or expensive. In reality, there are many green habits that are easy, inexpensive, and will help you sell your home faster. Cutting down on energy usage is often a great way to save money. Do you know that many buyers today will ask a seller how much they pay each month on their utilities? Some might even go so far as to ask for copies of the homeowners utility bills. In order to make this often large amount of money seem more reasonable, going green can help. Consider “greening” up your appliances. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, getting rid of old and outdated appliances can save thousands of dollars per…

Detectives investigating conflicting stories about incident.
A Port Chester man was shot in the leg on Weber Drive in Port Chester Thursday night, but village police say the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear. The 30-year-old man, who is not a resident of Weber Drive, originally told police that he was shot by a man who got out of a passing car and opened fire. However, police said the victim's story changed several times. Police said they are also investigating whether the injury was self-inflicted. The investigation began when police received a call reporting a stabbing on Weber Drive. When police arrived they found the shooting victim, who had a would in the right leg, between the knee and the ankle. Police said the victim originally said he was sitting on a bench when a car…
