Halloween in the Park; 4 Nights of Phil & Friends at The Cap; Candidates Forums

Port Chester Halloween in the Park

Port Chester Recreation Department and TD Bank present Halloween in the park on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 5:30 p.m. with a costume parade, lead by PCMS band.

The event is in Lyon Park, where a haunted maze and other spooky surprises will be set up. Rain date is Oct. 30.

 Rye Town Board Special Meeting

On Tuesday, Oct. 29 at 7:45 a.m. the Rye Town Board will hold a special meeting to hear the Town Clerk’s 2014 tentative budget and to set a date for the public hearing for a budget.

 Port Chester Board of Education Meting

The PC BOE will meet at 7 p.m. at JFK school on Wed. Oct. 30.

League of Women Voters Forum

The Rye city council and mayoral candidates will participate in a LWV forum on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at Rye Middle School, Multi-Purpose Room, 3 Parsons Street, Rye:

6:30 p.m. City Council Candidates: Kirstin Bucci, Meg Cameron, Julia Killian, Terry McCartney, Jason Mehler, Shari Punyon

Navigating College Admissions at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library

 On Tuesday, October 29th, 2013, 6:30pm-7:15pm, Jill Steinberg and Denise Baylis will make a presentation about navigating the college admissions process at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library.

Get information about strategies to maximize your child’s admission chances, financial aid, and what exams your child should take.

Rye Middle School Presents Annie

From RCSD: A cast of over fifty Rye Middle School sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-graders will perform the musical, Annie, Jr. on November 1 and 2. Both shows will be held in the Rye High School Performing Arts Center at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets, which can be purchased at the door, cost $5 and are free for senior citizens.

Based on the classic storyline about a young girl living in an orphanage, the show will portray Annie’s journey and feature famous songs from the original production. Come out and enjoy an outstanding performance that these students have spent much time rehearsing for!

Phil Lesh and Friends at the Cap

Phil Lesh & Friends will play four nights at the Capitol Theatre from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3. Thousands of fans are expected to arrive for the shows and to stick around town. The Capitol Theatre will block off part of Broad Street, next to the theater, for fans to gather, as they typically do for Grateful Dead related shows. Lesh is one of the founders of The Dead.
