The Port Chester village mayor and Board of Trustees are hosting a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the 9/11 monument area at Lyon Park. 

They are inviting the public to join them to honor the memory of those whose lives were lost as a result of the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2011, and to show our support for all the families and friends who were affected by the national tragedy.

Rye Brook Board Meeting

 There is a board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Rye Brook Village Hall. 

Rye City Council will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. in City Hall.

Rye Planning Commission Meeting

The Commission will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. in City Hall.

 Port Chester Planning Commission will meet  for a workshop on Sept. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

 Yom Kippur Begins at Sunset Friday

The Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur begins at sunset Friday. It is a day of prayer, fasting and no luxuries, referred to as the Day of Atonement.

The Woman’s Club of Rye is holding sign-ups on September 13 for their annual fundraiser, Family Portraits in the Park. 

Sittings will be in The Rye Nature Center September 22 and 29 or Rye Town Park October 6, 13, 14, 20 and 27. 

Proceeds from this fundraiser go toward children’s programs in Rye.

In person sign-ups will be held at Rye Recreation from 9 am till 1 pm on September 13

Online sign-ups start September 14 at signupgenius.com. Search for familyphotosofrye@gmail.com. $95 payable by check at Rye Recreation or $100 payable online via PayPal.
