Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo: Ready to rock the Cap

Pat Benatar and husband-guitarist Neil Giraldo will perform at the Capitol Theatre this Saturday, January 26.

Iconic 80s superstar, Pat Benatar and husband-guitarist, Neil 'Spyder' Giraldo are gearing up to rock the Capitol Theatre this Saturday; weather permitting with the predicted impending snowstorm coming this weekend. As they say in show business; it must go on! The duo are no stranger to Westchester; they performed last summer at Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway for their first-ever summer concert series. Benatar is expected to perform many of her hits, including; “Fire and Ice” “Heartbreaker” “Promises in the Dark,” “Precious Time,” “We Belong” and more.

In a recent interview with Giraldo, he gave me a glimpse into some upcoming projects (and what fans can expect from their concert at the Cap.)

“This is an off-season tour for us—we try to put new stuff in there; there's always a few surprises that we don't know we're going to do it all depends on how much time I have during the day and during soundcheck,” he said by phone. You never know, there's all kinds of new stuff. For the most part, until we get something released out there I would give everybody most of the hits and then a few surprises.”

Neil says the 90-minutes that they're on stage is time well spent.

“Everything else is not tiresome but it gets “old.” You can't get good food; that's the struggle. I love running, exercising but overall it's a lot of fun and a great life I just wish I had a bigger studio and had more time to create while I was on the road.”

He's currently writing an autobiography about his adventures on the road.

“People ask me, “Hey, Spyder; aren't your stories just as wild as your wife's maybe even wilder! I had a wilder past before her! So I started scribbling people seemed to like it— We started together we were partners so you'll look forward to a book from me as well,” he stated.

Neil is also working on a Christmas album, (the darker side of the holidays, that is!)

“I'm working on a solo Christmas record with a very good buddy of mine–I like to refer to it as not a “Frosty the Snowman” Christmas record! It's dark, it's happy it's about love lost, found, and lost again—hardships around the season. I have a lot of projects that I'm doing we're doing a record Patricia and I so a lot of great surprises are going on.”

The couple have performed at many older theaters. And with the Cap back in action; it's going to be an unforgettable evening.

“We've been to many old theaters and they are so beautiful! I love them!” he stated.

Hi, Thank you both for the feedback. Aiden, were you trying to post as a board message? There mightRead More have been some kind of technical glitch that our IT team is working out. In regards to your other comments, I urge you to give it a little time to get used to. The little bell at the top right of the page has a red circle with a number in it to tell you that someone has commented or interacted with something you have done so you should be able to go there and see exactly what is going on in the places where you posted. I hope this helps!

I agree with Aidan. I would check the Patch once a day for the articles, but several times to seeRead More how a discussion progressed. With the new format, that method is virtually impossible.

Btw, I tried for twenty minutes to post this as a new thread ... I finally gave up because pageRead More after page did zero ... just spun me nowhere. A waste.

Linda T., I would guess Mrs. Brakewood lives in Port Chester if she is running for the Port ChesterRead More Board of Ed. Even if the schools had to impose an austerity budget, your taxes would still go up. The state has more control in these matters than you think.

Linda, the per pupil expenditure in PC schools is the lowest in Westchester and Rockland countiesRead More ... by about $2,000 per student. The issue is two fold. First, our property values are not as strong as our neighbors, so our homes have a higher levy in order to fund the schools. Second, and more important, is that the reliance on property taxes slams moderate income communities like PC. We need for the state to move to an income tax to fund schools. Scream at your legislators ... not the BoE.

I am concerned there is not enough attention to detail in the BOE budget overall and Mrs. BrakewoodRead More comment about keeping taxes affordable ... where does she live ? they are out of control and in my opinion the money we pay for taxes we should have the best looking schools anywhere ... just my opinion
