For me, Independence Day means that we should never take for granted the society we live in, due to how much sacrifice was made by so many men and women, generations of people, who were willing to do all the hard work necessary for future generations prosperity.

Ed The fact that we still CAN celebrate Independence Day is paramount. But we must not take this freedom for granted, for there are forces out there working very hard to take this freedom from us. The forces are found in the newspapers, television, movies, books, schools and government. Forces that distort the truths; forces that want unprotected borders;forces that want a weak military; forces that want to take away our 2nd amendment rights; forces that want to do away with free enterprise and capitalism. And these forces are sitting in high places of government. So today, enjoy your time. Eat,drink, celebrate, but don't get complacent; Don't take your eye off the ball, because we could lose it all very quickly.
