Wednesday: Kids Health Program at Park Avenue School
The program runs from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday in Port Chester.
Efforts are being made in different in schools throughout the country to stop the trend toward higher rates of obesity among children and just such a program is hitting Port Chester this week.
On Wednesday, volunteers from PepsiCo in Westchester will join staff and their AmeriCorps members at the to help run activities for children in grades K-2 and their parents in the areas of physical, nutritional and social well-being.
The day will be structured around activities that highlight the importance of Fitness, Nutrition, Environmental Health and Social/Emotional Well-being. The program runs from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday based on a schedule of different 30 minute activities.
