Nandin's Safety Squeeze in 10th Leads Boulders Past Jackals

Boulders break losing streak as they get back to Provident Bank Park.

After losing three straight games by one run in Quebec, the would not be denied as knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth to push the Boulders past the Jersey Jackals, 2-1 at Provident Bank Park in Pomona.

New Jersey struck first in the top of the fourth when Nick Giarraputo doubled and was brought home on the very next at bat by Carlos Guzman. Boulders starter Dan Jurik settled in to finish seven strong innings, only giving up the one run on seven hits.

The Boulders offense was silent until the bottom of eighth when Orlando Mercado tied things up at one with a dinger over the left field wall. That would be all for New Jersey starter Kyle Greenwalt who surrendered just one run on five hits while striking out five in seven and a third innings.

The Boulders would end the game in the bottom of the tenth when Phillip Cuadrado tripled to center field that brought the Rockland faithful to their feet.
