Rye Outruns Port Chester in Cross-Country
Rye outpaced Port Chester, taking the top three spots in each race during Tuesday's rainy meet.

Rye took both matches between the boys and girls cross country teams. Port Chester was paced by Rams sophomore Juan Vargas, who came in fifth overall.
Rye's Tom Mayo-Smith, Taylor Love and Harrison Janart finished in first, second and third place respectively in the boys race. Rye's Ellie Friedmann, Ali Mackay and Nagomi Ogura finished in first, second and third place respectively in the girls race.

The Rams battled bad weather in addition to their opponents and saw strong individual performances despite the results.
"They're a young team," said coach Hank Birsdall. "You know, they're good kids. They work hard. They train hard. As a coach, you can't ask for more than that."
