Huskies Beat Rams in Home Volleyball Contest

The Port Chester Rams were swept in straight games by Harrison Huskies when they met at Port Chester High School on Thursday.

The Port Chester Rams took a drubbing at the hands of the Harrison Huskies on Thursday, then collapsed in their third set.

Harrison's girls varsity volleyball squad took the first two games, 25-16 and 25-15, before cruising to a lopsided 25-6 third-set victory at Port Chester High School.

Port Chester Coach Kathy Federici said her team looked sharp in the first two games, despite the unfavorable outcomes, but the squad deflated for the final set.

The Huskies prevailed to take a larger 15-8 lead in the second game before the Rams mounted a comeback.

Alyssa Murray pulled the Rams to within five, at 19-14, before the Huskies put a stop to Port Chester's run by scoring six of the next seven points.

Port Chester actually started out ahead in the third game, and the Rams held a 3-2 lead until the Huskies went on a 10 to one run. The game slipped away as the Rams managed only two more points, while the Harrison girls scored confidently.
