Port Chester Athlete Competes in The CrossFit Games

CrossFit Port Chester owner Kaleena Ladeairous is competing a national competition of the fittest this week.

Port Chester Cross Fit owner and trainer Kaleena Ladeairous is vying for the title of “fittest on earth” this week at the CrossFit Games in Carson, California.  The event brings CrossFit athletes from around the world together for a week of grueling physical tests. CrossFit workouts are high intensity and involve Olympic lifts and gymnastics.

Last year Ladeairous, 27, won two events out of six at the Regional event but the team was knocked out of the competition when they could not compete one of the events.

Ladeairous opened CrossFit Port Chetser with her partner Maria Vulcano about two years ago.

The Games posted an article on each competitor on their website where they quote Ladeairous’ trainer Jason Leydon of CrossFit Milford:

“Kaleena knows what she needs to do with all the exercises to excel in the workouts. She has put in the work, and now it is time to show up and play ball,” Leydon says. “Her ability to withstand pain and push her limits without fear allows her to really excel. The primary goal is to have fun and enjoy this experience, and also get to Sunday, which I firmly believe she can.”

Ladeairous told CrossFit what her goals are for this week:

“My goal for the Games is to have fun competing among the best of the best and just do as well as I can,” she says. “I'm looking forward to meeting some of the top athletes in the world and actually be able to say I got to (workout) with Kris Clever, Elisabeth Akinwale, Sam Briggs, Rebecca Voigt — the list goes on.”
