Keith Brachold’s 9th Inning Blast Propels Boulders Over Quebec, 6-4

Boulders take 3-straight from Capitales, go for sweep tonight

The rallied from four down to win a third straight Can-Am League baseball game against the Capitales Monday at Provident Bank Park in Pomon.

Quebec jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead with runs in the first and fourth innings and two runs in the fifth. Designated hitter Josue Peley would be the star for the Capitales knocking in two runs while going 2-4 on the night.

But just as the night before the Boulders battled back.  In the bottom of the sixith, Phillip Cuadrado continued his hot streak with a two-run double that drove in both Qualon Millender and Keith Brachold to make the tally 4-2.

Rockland would strike again in the bottom of the eighth as the Boulders loaded the bases with no outs. Ryan Mollica’s fly ball to deep left scored Brachold and put Rockland within one with one out. The Boulders loaded the bases again on a Matt Nandin walk and Cole Kraft delivered on a safety squeeze that knocked in Ryan Scoma and tied the game at 4. Rockland could not capitalize, as Quebec would turn a double play to end the inning.

After a shutout inning from Adrian Martin, Keith Brachold would end the game with a two-out bomb over the Corona Short Porch in the bottom of the ninth to end the contest.

The Boulders go for the sweep tonight against Quebec at 7 p.m. at Provident Bank Park.

Linda T., I would guess Mrs. Brakewood lives in Port Chester if she is running for the Port ChesterRead More Board of Ed. Even if the schools had to impose an austerity budget, your taxes would still go up. The state has more control in these matters than you think.

Linda, the per pupil expenditure in PC schools is the lowest in Westchester and Rockland countiesRead More ... by about $2,000 per student. The issue is two fold. First, our property values are not as strong as our neighbors, so our homes have a higher levy in order to fund the schools. Second, and more important, is that the reliance on property taxes slams moderate income communities like PC. We need for the state to move to an income tax to fund schools. Scream at your legislators ... not the BoE.

I am concerned there is not enough attention to detail in the BOE budget overall and Mrs. BrakewoodRead More comment about keeping taxes affordable ... where does she live ? they are out of control and in my opinion the money we pay for taxes we should have the best looking schools anywhere ... just my opinion
