Daily Sports Digest: Port Chester Softball Fundraiser Ends Today

Jeannine Maoilini is about to enter her first season as the Port Chester varsity softball coach and already her impact on the program is tangible. Maoilini and the team’s booster club are working tirelessly to revamp the program and raise the team into a new era of softball and a higher level of play.

Nearly a month ago Patch received a coupon for Modells from a representative of the booster club that entitles shoppers to 15 percent off of their purchase. Five percent of the money spent goes to the Port Chester softball program. The public support has been great up until this point, but today is the last day to use the coupon and every dollar spent will help the program greatly.

As the coaches and boosters have worked hard, players are reciprocating with early preparation for the upcoming season. The young athletes are proving their dedication this year, practicing as a team with clinics throughout the winter.

Port Chester varsity athletics are currently on hiatus for the holiday season. The Rams wrestling team will be in Arlington on Dec. 27 and 28.
