The Monroe College Mustangs of New Rochelle are building a football program and are serious about contending soon, as newly hired Head Coach Terry Karg and company look to take the field in fall 2012.

Karg has coached for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers in the AF2 and the Los Angeles Avengers of the AFL, where he worked with quarterbacks like Todd Marinavich, Tony Grazini and Erik Wilhelm. Karg was also a very successful athlete in his own right, with stints in the Canadian Football League, Arena Football League and NFL Europe. His global experience will help him in the diverse world of college athletics.

Coach Karg believes the Mustangs will need to reach into the city for talent. He told the Daily News in December that city kids will be the “foundation of what we are here at the Monroe College football program.”
