Voters Pass $80 Million School Budget in Port Chester

Next year's school budget passed by 68 votes on Tuesday.

Port Chester voters approved the school district's $80 million budget during Tuesday's vote.

After a months-long budget process that included emotional , belt-tightening in areas ranging from staffing to programs, and last-minute appeals to secure more aid from state and federal sources, the Board of Education in April.

After the votes were tallied at Port Chester Middle School Tuesday night, unofficial results showed 734 votes for the budget, while 666 residents voted against the spending plan.
