Tickets Still Available For 'Midtown Men' Concerts at PCHS

Featuring original cast members of Broadway's "Jersey Boys," the Midtown Men will bring 1960s pop music to Port Chester High School during a series of shows next month.

Four original cast members from the lauded Broadway production of Jersey Boys will take the stage at Port Chester High School next month, bringing star power to a pair of fundraisers.

Although the name has changed, the music hasn't -- it's the same "Top 40 glory" of the Four Seasons and 1960s pop music. The cast members of the Broadway show have taken their act on the road under the name The Midtown Men.

They'll stage a pair of shows in March, and crowds at the newly-renovated auditorium on those nights will do a good deed while listening to great music: The shows are fundraisers for the Port Chester High School Soccer Booster Club.

Although it's one of the school's powerhouse teams, soccer was the only major school sport that didn't have a booster club. After two decades as coach, Tom Corbia teamed up with graduates and former players to start the booster club this year. Club members hope to help students and players in a range of ways, from providing SAT prep courses to offering scholarships, Corbia said.

This season's squad was one of the most successful of all time for Port Chester, soaring into the playoffs after an undefeated season. That run took the Rams all the way to the state championship game.

The Midtown Men's website gives audiences a hint at the hits they'll experience:

"During their time in the mega-hit musical Jersey Boys, these four talented artists shared the stage for over a thousand performances ... Now these four Broadway Stars are taking their own unique sound and chemistry on the road, singing the hits of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Jackson Five, The Mamas and The Papas, the Four Seasons and more!"

"It's going to be a fun night. It's probably the first major concert that the Port Chester High School has had outside of school concerts," Corbia said. "It'd be a great way for ppl to come and see another side of Port Chester."

The shows are scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at 7 p.m., and a Sunday afternoon show on March 11. Both shows will be staged in Port Chester High School's auditorium.

Only 700 tickets are available for each show. To purchase tickets, call 718-423-8394.
