School Calendar: Rachel's Challenge, BoE Meeting Slated for This Week

Highlights and events in the Port Chester School District this week.

Today:

Students and teachers will head back to class today for an abbreviated school week after Columbus Day.

In sports, both varsity soccer clubs are away -- the boys squad will visit Blind Brook for a 4:30 p.m. game, while the girls team will head to Peekskill for a 4:30 p.m. match.

Wednesday, Oct. 12

Students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades will participate in Rachel's Challenge, an anti-violence and anti-bullying program inspired by the life of Columbine shooting victim Rachel Scott.

A broader version of the program, open to parents and community members, is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Port Chester Middle School auditorium.

In sports, the Rams varsity volleyball team hosts Briarcliff at Port Chester High School.

Thursday, Oct. 13

Friday, Oct. 14

Friday Night Lights: The varsity football team heads to Mamaroneck to take on the Tigers for a 7 p.m. kick-off.
