Principal Gives Report on Middle School at Port Chester School Board Session

Port Chester Middle School Principal Patrick Swift is scheduled to give his "state of the school" address tonight as the Port Chester school board meets at the Middle School.

As the school board moves its meeting to various schools in the district, principals take the opportunity to herald the successes of their staff and students to the board members and the public.

In addition to hearing about the status of the Middle School, the school board is expected to salute students and staff members for achievements. Among students to be honored are:

- Jonathan Hidalgo for achievement in a PBS design challenge competition.

- Jazmin Acosta for her Section 1 track and field championship

- Michaela Mascolo for her girls bowling Triple Crown Award for Section 1.

The school board is also continuing the process of updating a variety of district policies, ranging from drug and alcohol abuse to student rights and responsibilities.

The school board's public session is set for 7 p.m. at Port Chester Middle School. A 5:30 p.m. closed-door "executive session" is scheduled to discuss negotiations, litigation and personnel matters.
