Port Chester H.S. Student Cited for Artistic Ability

Work is Exhibited at Pace University Gallery.

Isabella Roca, a sophomore at Port Chester High School, has received an Honorable Mention in Drawing in the Scholastic Arts and Writing Competition.

The same drawing, which was created using pastel, is on display at Pace University’s High School Invitational: Small Works Exhibition 2013.  It is one of 200 works by student artists from selected area high schools to be shown through March 12 at the University’s Choate House Gallery on its Pleasantville campus.

“These are wonderful honors since Isabella is only in her second art class at PCHS,” said her art teacher, Donna Smith.  Currently, Isabella is studying Painting and Drawing and took studio art in her freshman year.

“Art is my therapy, allowing me to express my feelings and tell a story of things in life that are indescribable through words,” said Isabella.  Isabella’s creativity has led her to a face painting and cake decorating business: (www.facepaintingbybella.webs.com).

In addition to being an artist, Isabella is also a musician.
