PCMS Students Participate in News12 Local Government Event

A press release from Westchester County Government: Eighth-grade students will discuss the structure of the local government, as part of Optimum’s Power to Learn event, in conjunction with News 12 this Thursday at Port Chester Middle School.  Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino and News 12 Westchester/Hudson Valley Anchor Matt Sampson will discuss the subject matter.  Student presentations follow, including skits, a debate and a Power Point on voting, why local government is important and the do’s and don’ts of Election Day. Five students will then participate in a Q&A with County Executive Astorino and News 12 Westchester/Hudson Valley Anchor Sampson. 
The event takes place in the PCMS auditorium at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, May 23.
