PCHS Concert Fundraiser Slated For This Weekend

Concerts featuring the Midtown Men will benefit the Port Chester High School varsity soccer booster club.

Port Chester High School's varsity soccer squad swept through the regular season last year, en route to a playoff run that took them all the way to the .

But the team didn't have a booster club and didn't have the community support enjoyed by the football program and Rams squads in other sports.

who coached the team for two decades, wants to change that. He retired last year after a 40-year career as a teacher in Port Chester and wanted to do something for the team with his spare time.

With help from recent graduates and older alumni, Corbia for the team. The club will offer athletic support, but more importantly, it will provide essential services — like SAT prep classes — and offer scholarships to promote excellence in both academics and athletics.

This weekend marks the new booster club's biggest fundraiser with a pair of concerts by the Midtown Men. The group consists of four cast members from the original Broadway run of Jersey Boys, singing 60s pop classics during their performances.

The shows are scheduled for Saturday, March 10 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 11, in Port Chester High School's auditorium.
