Middle School Parade to be Part of Port Chester H.S. Homecoming

Students, teachers will march from the middle school to the high school's Ryan Stadium.

About 900 Port Chester Middle School students and faculty members – most dressed in blue and white, the Port Chester Middle School and High School colors – will leave their school for a Homecoming Parade to Port Chester High School on Thursday.

“I want our middle school students to take pride in being Port Chester Rams and in wearing the blue and white,” said Middle School Principal Patrick Swift.

This is the first time the middle school will hold a Homecoming Parade through the village.  A previous attempt two years ago was thwarted by bad weather.  The forecast for Thursday predicts sunny fall weather.

The parade is scheduled to start at 1:48 p.m., with the route taking the students and teachers up South Ridge Street to Neuton Avenue and then up to Port Chester High School’s Ryan Stadium. There, the middle school students will participate in the high school Fall Sports Pep Rally, which will start at 2:00pm.

“We are all part of the same school family," said Mitchell Combs, Port Chester High School principal. "This is a terrific event to spread school spirit throughout our community.”
