New Leaders Named for Realtors Group

Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors represents brokers in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam and Orange Counties.

Orange County resident Katheryn DeClerck has been named the 2013 president of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors, with Russ Woolley of Rockland County named president of the Hudson Gateway Multiple Listing Service.

The Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors is a not-for-profit trade association covering more than 9,000 real estate professionals doing business in Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Orange counties. The organization is comprised of the former Westchester Putnam Association of Realtors, Rockland County Board of Realtors and Orange County Association of Realtors.

The Hudson Gateway Multiple Listing Service, owned by HGAR, offers some 24,000 properties in the Bronx, Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.

DeClerck, a Goshen resident, is an associate broker with Better Homes and Gardens Rand in Warwick, and Woolley, an Upper Nyack resident, is owner and principal broker of Wright Brothers Real Estate in Nyack.

DeClerck succeeds Nancy Kennedy of Houlihan Lawrence in Croton, the 2012 HGAR President, and Woolley takes over the reins from Gary Leogrande of Keller Williams in White Plains, the 2012 HGMLS President. Kennedy and Leogrande will remain on the Executive Committees of HGAR and HGMLS.

DeClerck is a director with the New York State Association of Realtors and has chaired NYSAR’s Communications and Public Relations Committees.  She has served on NYSAR’s Grievance Committee, was a director with the former Orange County Association of Realtors for five years and chaired its Diversity Committee.

In 2011, she was named OCAR’s “Realtor of the Year.”

Woolley has been in the real estate business for 34 years. He has served as president of the former Rockland County Board of Realtors and has been the owner and principal broker of Wright Brothers Real Estate for the past 11 years.

In addition to the president, the 2013 HGAR Officers elected include: Diane Cummins of Prudential Douglas Elliman in Somers as HGAR’s President-Elect for 2014; John Lease III of John Lease Realtors in Newburgh as Regional VP, Orange County; Drew Kessler of ERA Tucker Associates in Nanuet as Regional VP Rockland County; Gail Fattizzi of Westchester Real Estate Inc. in Eastchester as Regional VP Westchester/Putnam Counties; and Jennifer Maher of  Keller Williams in White Plains as Regional VP, Westchester/Putnam Counties. Sharon Tucker of ERA Tucker Associates in Nanuet will serve as Secretary-Treasurer.

The new HGMLS Officers include J. Philip Faranda of J. Philip Real Estate in Briarcliff Manor as Vice President; Leah Caro of Bronxville-Ley Real Estate in Bronxville as Secretary and Rosemarie Pelatti of Keller Williams in New City as Treasurer.

Btw, I tried for twenty minutes to post this as a new thread ... I finally gave up because pageRead More after page did zero ... just spun me nowhere. A waste.

If Patch was meant to be both a community news source and a site for community opinions, well, theRead More new format has undermined both of those intentions. The site is unfriendly for even casual perusing and even more user-unfriendly for any sort of dialogue between readers and those who wish to make comments. It might have been a well-intentioned make-over, but it's diminished user traffic and turned folks off. Local issues used to be aired here ... and then debated and commented on by the folks most impacted by those issues. That's all been sabotaged by the new format. Better to admit your error or face the reality of less user traffic and probably less ad revenue as well.

Linda T., I would guess Mrs. Brakewood lives in Port Chester if she is running for the Port ChesterRead More Board of Ed. Even if the schools had to impose an austerity budget, your taxes would still go up. The state has more control in these matters than you think.

Linda, the per pupil expenditure in PC schools is the lowest in Westchester and Rockland countiesRead More ... by about $2,000 per student. The issue is two fold. First, our property values are not as strong as our neighbors, so our homes have a higher levy in order to fund the schools. Second, and more important, is that the reliance on property taxes slams moderate income communities like PC. We need for the state to move to an income tax to fund schools. Scream at your legislators ... not the BoE.

I am concerned there is not enough attention to detail in the BOE budget overall and Mrs. BrakewoodRead More comment about keeping taxes affordable ... where does she live ? they are out of control and in my opinion the money we pay for taxes we should have the best looking schools anywhere ... just my opinion
