Trustees to Meet Tonight: Should PC Hire Contractors to Help Code Enforcement?

Port Chester's Board of Trustees will meet tonight at 7 p.m. on the second floor of the village courthouse.

Village hall's in decades past has been , and Port Chester's code enforcement staff has approached the unenviable task of organizing records methodically, despite limited resources.

Tonight, the Board of Trustees will vote on a resolution to hire an outside firm to help sift through and organize the mountain of paperwork, and some leaders in the village say that will help inspectors checking homes and less behind a desk.

The first item on tonight's agenda calls for a vote to hire General Code, a document management company with expertise in municipal matters.

The board is also expected to approve using to purchase new police equipment, including three ballistic vests. Also on the agenda: a budget amendment authorizing payment to Fairvote for work on the historic 2010 village election, several appointments, and resolutions to set public hearings for several neighborhood parking and traffic issues.
