Trustees Meet Tonight: Village to Closely Watch Development Impact on School District

Port Chester's Board of Trustees will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the village courthouse.

If a development project has the potential to impact Port Chester schools, planning and zoning officials should notify the Board of Education directly.

That's the goal of a resolution on the agenda for tonight's trustee meeting. The resolution instructs the "Director of Planning and Development, the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals to notify the Port Chester Board of Education upon any applications which may have an impact on the School District," according to the agenda.

Also slated for tonight: Trustees will award a $210,000 contract to a security firm for a "security and surveillance project" at Port Chester parks, including Columbus Park, Abendroth Park and the waterfront promenade.
