The town board is expected to approve close to $20,000 in change orders related to the water filtration plant construction in Bedford at its meeting Tuesday evening.
Among the changes—additional costs incurred—are additional taps for sampling and overtime for painters to complete work during a second shift of work after fumes impeded other work progress on-site.
Kevin Winn, commissioner of public works, has said that such changes are "not unique for complex projects" such as the water filtration plant. Initially planned to be operational last fall, the plant is slated to go online in the next few months.
The board is also expected to discuss salary ranges for Recreation and Parks
Department seasonal staff and review a request to re-bid and modify snow removal contracts to identify the most beneficial rates for Bedford.
In addition the board is expected to approve the reappointment of Don Scott and Andrew Messinger to the Wetlands Commission.
