Rye Town Officials Working to Move Operations to Port Chester by 2014

Thank you to Rye Town volunteer media coordinator Dick Hubert for sending the following information from the Sept. 17 Rye Town Board meeting:

Rye Town officials hope to start holding their meetings at the Port Chester Village Court Room at 350 N. Main Street at the start of next year, while the town works to close the sale of its town hall and move offices to Port Chester Village Hall, Supervisor Joe Carvin reported.

Town attorney Paul Noto said that closing the sale has been a slow process but Carvin implored him to have the contracts ready for a closing in early November, at the latest, so the town can start operating from Port Chester Village Hall by Jan. 2, 2014.

The October Town Meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. at Rye Town Hall.
