Rye Brook Seeks Public Opinion on Tennis Wall Removal at Pine Ridge Park

From the Village of Rye Brook:

The green concrete wall located next to the basketball courts at Pine Ridge Park has reached the end of its useful life will be removed in the next few months. 

Next Tuesday, October 22 at 7:30 P.M. in Village Hall the Rye Brook Village Board will be considering whether or not to replace this concrete wall.  Potential options to be discussed include the following:

1)      Replacing the old wall with a new wall.  Multiple estimates have been received for a replacement cost of $35,000-$40,000; or

2)      Save the $35,000-$40,000, have highway staff remove the existing wall, and place additional natural screening (trees and/or bushes) between the basketball courts and the bathroom facility.

 The Village Board is requesting feedback from the community on these or other options.

Please come to the Village Board meeting on October 22 in Village Hall to voice your opinion on this matter.  If you are unable to attend this meeting, you may submit comments by email todburke@ryebrook.org

 All written comments submitted in advance must be received by noon on Monday, October 21.
