Public Hearing on Rye Brook Affordable Housing Project Tuesday

The Village Board of Trustees will hold the public hearing on Bowridge Commons on Nov. 13.

The Village Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing on the Bowman Ave. affordable housing project on the border of Port Chester and Rye Brook on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

The meeting was cancelled from its originally scheduled date of Oct. 30 due to Superstorm Sandy.

The project will build 16 units of affordable housing called Bowridge Commons at 80 Bowman Avenue. There will be eight one-bedrooms for leasing and eight two-bedroom units for sale. View the blueprints for the development here.

They want to do the same exact thing the City of Rye did in building THEIR affordable housing on Cottage Street (Off of Midland Avenue) in Port Chester (Rye). If these "affordable houses" were in fact in Rye how come you don't see the Rye PD patrolling that area?? ANSWER: They're technically in Rye but the other side of the street is good old PC. The question arises again; what impact will this new "Rye Brook Plan" have on an already OVER CROWDED PC? PC needs stop getting getting "pee' d" on by their more affluent neighbors.

I see Rye Police on my street maybe once every few months. Does that mean that they're not on my street more often? Nope. Ditto for Cottage. So, unless you live on Cottage street and are there monitoring police visits 24 hours a day, the basis for your assertion is wrong.
