Port Chester Library Restores Saturday Hours

No decision yet on restoring Tuesday evening hours cut as a budgetary decision.

The this weekend is restoring Saturday afternoon hours that were cut this month as a budgetary decision.

Library board president Roger Herman said the board has voted to undo the cutbacks that starting June 2 closed the library at noon on Saturdays. The library, starting Saturday, will be open until 5 p.m.

However, Herman said the library board deferred until its September meeting whether to restore the Tuesday evening hours at the library.

The Port Chester Board of Trustees in April approved a $32.6 million budget that includes funding for the library. One Monday, the village Board of Trustees in funding for the library — with the stipulation that the library restore the hours of operation that were cut.
