Port Chester Fest and the Mystery of the Missing Logo
Did Port Chester not get enough credit for a festival promoting Port Chester? Say what?
Last week, Port Chester trustees feuded over whether the Port Chester municipal logo in banners and advertisements for Port Chester Fest.
This week, one trustee signaled his intention to look into the community organizations that received more credit than village government in promotional materials – and how they benefit from their relationship to the village.
In a request to Village Clerk Joan Mancuso on Tuesday afternoon, Trustee Bart Didden asked the clerk to provide trustees with records of all sponsorship and donation agreements with local non-profits including the Council of Community Services, the Clay Arts Center and the Council for the Arts.

Didden also asked for records on the Bush Homestead, a historic building in Lyon Park, as well as recreational soccer and baseball programs.
A copy of the e-mail was provided by Democrat Daniel Brakewood, who is usually at odds with the Republican trustee on votes and policy discussions. The headers and an unrelated portion of the e-mail have been removed, but the text is unedited:

Joan,
Please forward to all members of the Board a copy of the "contracts" or "agreements" that the Village has with all groups that receive either a direct financial disbursement or other "in kind donation(s)". I beleive that this would include -
Council for the Arts
The baseball program
The soccer program
Clay Arts Center
Council of Community Services
Port Chester Yacht Club
Bush Homestead
The building known as The Girl Scout House at Lyon's Park
The local Veteran's Post
The Independence Day Committee
The Columbus Day Committee
The Port Chester Library
any and all groups that we "Co-Sponsor" or give the Village name or Logo to as a form of endorsement
Bart A. Didden
