Port Chester DPW Worker Accused Of Selling Cocaine

Alexander Destefano charged in local, county drug investigation.

A Port Chester DPW worker who has been under investigation for about four months has been arrested on drug sales and possession charges, according to Port Chester police.

Alexander Destefano, 34, of 999 High St., Port Chester was picked up by police at the village DPW yard on Fox Island Road in the conclusion of an investigation by Port Chester police and narcotics investigators from the Westchester County Police Department.

Destefano, according to police, was involved with drug transactions in the Grant Street area. Police said there were no drug transactions involving the DPW yard where Desstafano worked.

Police said Destefano became a suspect in January and undercover police targeted him for an investigation. Police said Destefano sold small amounts of cocaine, although estimates of the cash value of the drugs was not immediately available.

Destefano is accused of two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance, and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, all felonies. Destefano was arraigned in Port Chester Village Court and ordered held in the Westchester County Jail in Valhalla pending a hearing on Thursday.
