Port Chester CPAC, Architectural Board Meet Tonight

Both boards will meet at village hall.

Port Chester's Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee and Architectural Board of Review will meet tonight at village hall.

The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, or CPAC, is a volunteer committee charged with helping elected leaders construct a master plan for the village. Members have attended several recent trustee meetings "what I hope is the home stretch," Mayor Dennis Pilla said.

"I'm seeing a master plan vision. Our staff ... are taking ownership of that vision and are marshalling that vision, which is the voice of the people, to become law," Pilla said.

The master plan "will be the basis for revised zoning and for all the priorities of the village of Port Chester," the mayor said.

The committee has crafted a 14-chapter draft, a large document village leaders hope to "synthesize" into a format more easily read by residents and taxpayers. It will include four or five major zoning changes, redrawn maps, environmental impact statements and other elements.

The committee hopes to schedule a public hearing on the plan and zoning text amendments in June. The draft will be fine-tuned with considerations from the public.

CPAC meets tonight at 6:30 p.m. in village hall's conference room two. The Architectural Board of Review meets at 7:30 p.m. in village hall room 222.
