New Road Striping Set to Improve Port Chester Roads

Putnam Avenue, King Street, Glen Avenue part of project that could begin as soon as next week.

Port Chester is planning on repainting the traffic stripes on several key streets to improve traffic flow and safety.

After getting an approval from the village Board of Trustees Monday night, village officials anticipate that the estimated $10,000 project could begin as soon as next week.

The work is designed to improve the marking of road edges and traffic lanes. The re-striping is set for:

The project is expected to improve roadway conditions in the Lyon Park area.

The work on Putnam Avenue needed Board of Trustees approval because the road is the responsibility of the state. Village officials said the state does not have funding available for the project and the village has to handle the work if it wants the re-striping done quickly.
