Lowey Blasts Treatment of Michele Bachmann On Jimmy Fallon Show As Sexist

Congresswoman says she doesn't agree with Bachmann's politics, but calls walk-on music insulting and inappropriate.

U.S. Rep. Nita Lowey, D-Westchester, Rockland, today blasted the show "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" for introducing GOP presidential candidate U.S Rep. Michele Bachmann with walk-on music entitled “Lyin’ Ass Bitch.”

“The choice of song to introduce Michele Bachmann on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night was insulting and inappropriate," Lowey said. “I do not share Michele Bachmann’s politics, but she deserves to be treated with respect.  No female politician – and no woman – should be subjected to sexist and offensive innuendo like she was last night."

“The Roots, Jimmy Fallon, and NBC should apologize,” Lowey said.
