If you're noticing any low water pressure today in Port Chester, it's related to maintenance work that's being done on local fire hydrants.
United Water New Rochelle said it is flushing hydrants in the village until about 4 p.m. today. With the work, some United Water customers may experience lower water pressure or slight discoloration of their water.
If you do notice discolorartion, United Water says you should run your cold water in a basement sink for about 15 to 20 minutes to flush out the line. United Water suggests checking your water before doing any laundry at home today. If the water is discolored, the company says to make sure you flush out your line before running your washing machine.
United Water said the company's workers are in Port Chester today for the fire hydrant maintenance. United Water says its employees all carry company identification.
