Emergency Gas Reserved for First Responders, State Says

After crowds flooded the free mobile fueling stations, state officials told the public to wait for emergency vehicles to fill up first.

After crowds flooded the free mobile fueling stations set up Saturday, the state Division of Military and Naval Affairs issued an advisory asking the public to keep away from the pumps until emergency vehicles could fill up, according to the Wall Street Journal

The U.S. Department of Defense set up mobile fueling stations in each borough and across Long Island offering free gas with a 10-gallon limit per person.

But after long lines formed, the state Division of Military and Naval Affairs issued an advisory asking the public to stay away until more fuel is released.

I am a first responder and will seek gas in the morning. where can i go in BK that will give me first priority?

You will not get first priority, but you do stand a better chance of getting gas than the rest of the public and ypur wait is not as long. I waited 1 1/2hrs at rogers av/empire blvd though I am a first responder. So give yourself some time to wait for the fuel even though you're in the first responders lone.

Mayor Bloomberg and Deputy Mayor Cas Holloway say a whole lot of NOTHING re: Gowanus Canal Flooding and A Very Anxious Mother writes to CORD http://carrollgardenspetition.blogspot.com/2012/11/empty-words-from-cas-halloway-and-mayor.html

Could this be a dress rehearsal for an attack? Has nature shown us we are not prepared? Of course I hope not but it is a shame that so many have to pay for the lesson in so many ways. The easiest part is the gas situation. Why it's taking so long to have that brought back to normal is so rediculous.
