By the Numbers: Pagano Tops Pilla for Mayor, Didden Re-Election Bid Fails By 31 Votes

Didden to ask for re-count of voting in Board of Trustees election; newcomer Ceccarelli elected, former trustee Adams regains seat.

Unofficial results released early this morning show that Republican Neil Pagano is the clear winner in Tuesday's election for Port Chester mayor, defeating Democratic incumbent Dennis Pilla.

In the race for six seats on the Port Chester Board of Trustees, Demoracts Daniel Brakewood and Luis Marino, Republican Joseph Kenner and Conservative Saverio Terenzi were re-elected, with former trustee Greg Adams, a Democrat, being returned to the board and political newcomer Gene Ceccarelli winning a seat.

Incumbent trustee Bart Didden, a Conservative, was defeated - coming in just 31 votes below Kenner.

Didden, however, said his numbers from poll watchers showned he was down by just 13 votes down and he would seek a re-count of the votes.

Port Chester Village Clerk Janusz Richards said the results included votes from the five days of advance voting last week and Tuesday's voting. Additionally, he said 121 absentee ballots were counted.

Fourteen votes cast through affidavits are to be counted today, he said.

Richards said the voting tallies still need to be certified as official. A tally of the number of voters who took part in the election was not yet available.
