Port Chester's trustees seek public input ahead of proposed changes to parking zones within the village.
The new local law would adjust parking time limits in specified zones throughout the village. For example, some zones would cap parking at two hours or four hours, while other zones would allow parking for longer periods of time.
The law would also restrict parking rules in other zones by prohibiting overnight parking or prohibiting parking past certain hours.
Some of the changes are proposed with the input of shoppers and downtown merchants, while other tweaks were proposed based on observed patterns since the village installed digital multimeters.
The public hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. on March 5 at the village courthouse.
