Board of Trustees to Host Budget Workshop, Discussions on Taxi Licensing and Trustee Elections

The Port Chester Board of Trustees will hold a budget workshop Wed. evening, which will include presentations by officials from the Senior Center and Recreation Department. The workshop will be followed by a regular board meeting.

The Village of Port Chester Board of Trustees will hold a budget workshop Wednesday evening, followed by a regular meeting.

At 6p.m., the budget workshop is set to include presentations by representatives from the Senior and Nutrition Programs and the Recreation Department, as well as the Village Clerk, Manager, and Mayor.

At 7:30 p.m., the Board of Trustees meeting will include the following:

  1. A presentation by John Conyers of Saving Our Society, Inc., regarding a mentorship program with the Port Chester Rotary Club.
  2. Discussion on the village's proposed Tentative Budget for June 1, 2011 - May 31, 2012.
  3. A public hearing on amending a part of the village code to alter licensing regulations for taxicabs and dispatch companies.
  4. A discussion on staggering trustee elections.
  5. Time allotted for public comments.
  6. Resolutions for the appointment of Joan Mancuso for Village Clerk, the village's co-sponsoring of Port Chester Fest, and authorizing the Village Manager to sign on with the Bronx Umpires Association for the Port Chester Men's Softball League umpiring services this summer.

Both meetings will be held at the Village Senior/Community Center (220 Grace Church St., Port Chester.)

A special work session of the Board of Trustees will also be held Thurs., Apr. 21 at 6p.m. at the Community center. The board will discuss budget issues for the library, Town Assessor's office, as well as overall finances and revenues.
