A few other briefs from Thursday's meeting

Thursday night’s Port Chester Board of Education meeting wasn’t just all about and the .

While the packed auditorium with 150-plus might’ve all left after the public comments portion of the meeting, the board continued on with the meeting, running through a number of resolutions.

  • The board approved two professional service contracts, one for $2,000 with Arcoiris Records Inc. for school presentation and assembly at Park Avenue School, and the other for $1,500 with Franco Rosado as the bullying speaker for the Port Chester High School Aspire After School Program.
  • For door and hardware replacement at the Park Avenue School, the board awarded a $95,600 contract to C&M Door Controls because it was the lowest bidder.
  • The board agreed to let Board President Blanca Lopez execute an amendment to the Cooperation Agreement governing the NYCLASS Program, of which the Port Chester-Rye Board of Education is a part of. The amendment states that the “Village of Potsdam will become the new lead participant and provides for changes to the investment advisor from time to time as determined by the governing board of NYCLASS,” according to the resolution.
  • The board amended resolution “E” Item 1 from its July 7, 2011 meeting so that the professional contract for Jeanne LoCascio, mentor consultant, will not exceed $15,000.
