White Plains Woman Charged in $74 Theft in Port Chester

A White Plains woman is charged with petty larceny in connection with the theft of $74 worth of jewelry from a Port Chester department store, according to Port Chester Police.

Maria Depalo, 59, of 28 Jackson Ave., White Plains, was arrested about 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday after security staff at the Kohl's store at 431 Boston Post Road accused her of taking three pairs of earrings and a ring from the store without paying for them. Police said the woman is accused of putting the items with merchandise that she did purchase.

Depalo faces a hearing in Port Chester Village Court.
