Utility Line Problem Brings Flash of Fire on King Street in Port Chester

Con Ed crew makes repairs.

A loud pop and a flash of fire along a utility line in Port Chester on Monday brought out village police and firefighters along with a utility repair crew.

Police said the problem took place about 11:42 a.m. at King Street and Upland Street, where fire was spotted along electric lines. A Con Edison crew, police said, made repairs that took several hours.

Traffic in the area was affected until about 1:45 p.m.
