Used Cooking Oil Thief on the Loose in Port Chester

Of all the things to steal, used greasy fat does not sound the most enticing, but apparently it’s the target of a local thief or thieves.

At 10:45 a.m. Thursday, the owners of John’s of Arthur Avenue and Manchu Garden both reported to Port Chester police that someone had stolen gallons of their used cooking oil, which they keep stored outside their business at 508 and 504 Westchester Avenue, respectively.

The owner of John’s said he noticed that the safety grade that stops oil from being sucked out had been tampered with and someone had stolen about 125 gallons of the used grease out of the container.
