Unlocked Cars Targeted by Thieves on Madison Avenue in Port Chester

Cars parked in driveways; small amounts of cash stolen.

It may sound simple, but Port Chester police say one way local residents can prevent crime is by locking their car doors — even if the car is parked in your own driveway at home.

Police said at least four unlocked cars on Madison Avenue were entered by thieves who took small amounts of cash in the cars. The cars were parked in driveways of local homes within a few blocks of each other.

The incidents took place overnight Wednesday and were discovered by residents on Thursday morning. No arrests have been made in connection with the incidents.
