Theft at Doral Arrowwood, Elmsford Man Charged with Unlicensed Driving

Police and hotel authorities are investigating after the contents of a gift bag went missing from a guest's hotel room.

The victim told police she was staying in the Rye Brook hotel on May 7 and left a gift bag in her room, containing $110, when she went downstairs to have breakfast with her daughter. When she returned to her hotel room, she noticed the contents of the gift bag were missing.

Rye Brook police and the hotel's own staff are conducting an investigation, according to Rye Brook police Lt. Eugene Matthews.

Elmsford man charged with unlicensed driving after traffic stop

An Elmsford man was arrested Monday for driving without a license after an officer spotted him while behind the wheel on Lincoln Avenue, Rye Brook police said.

Abdon Tillacela, 38, was heading northbound on Lincoln Avenue when an officer stopped him, Lt. Eugene Matthews said. Tillacela told the officer he had dialed his boss because he was late for work, and said he didn't have a license. However, when the officer ran Tillacela's name through a law enforcement database, it showed the Elmsford man an expired license issued by North Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles.

Tillacela was charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and was issued a ticket for talking on his cell phone while driving. Tillacela was arraigned and posted $150 bail pending his next hearing on May 25 in Rye Brook village court.
