Tab-Skippers Leave PC Man with Beer Bill; Thieves Steal Cardboard Pellets from Costco

"The next round's on you. No, seriously."

If Cornelio Miguel Toc had an escape plan, perhaps it was forgotten in a haze of beer.

Toc and three other friends walked into Kaylee's Restaurant on Pearl Street Tuesday night at 10:30 p.m. and began ordering Modelo by the bottle. The waitress told police she brought 15 beers, worth about $60, over the course of an hour and a half before Toc's three companions got up from the table and left the restaurant. Toc was left sitting at the table by himself.

But when the waitress brought the bill, Toc said he had no money and wouldn't pay, Lt. James Ladeairous said. That's when the restaurant manager called police.

Toc, 27, of 31 William St., was charged with theft of services, a misdemeanor.

Cardboard is Worth How Much?

Thieves in a box truck stole $900 in cardboard bales from the waterfront Costco on Tuesday, Port Chester police said.

The store's general manager called police at 8 p.m. Tuesday. He said he'd reviewed security footage of the store's rear loading docks, which showed three men pull up in a box truck and load three large bales of cardboard – worth about $300 each – into the truck.

The manager did not recognize the men, and didn't provide identifying details. Anyone with information on the theft can call the Port Chester Police Department at 914-939-1000.
