A car sitting in a Port Chester municipal parking lot for two days turned out to be a stolen vehicle taken from Mount Vernon, according to Port Chester Police.
A village parking enforcement officer discovered the car in the Irving Avenue parking lot on Wednesday and a check of the 1996 Dodge Ram's registration revealed it had been reported stolen on Nov. 16.
The car, owned by a Mount Vernon resident, was returned to Mount Vernon, police said.
